Privacy policy
Updated October 8, 2026. Published by SeongHyeok Baek. The Android section covers Practice Note 1.2.1; the iOS section below retains the policy for the App Store 1.0 release effective October 2, 2026.
Android 1.2.1
This section applies to Practice Note for Android (com.sean.practicenote).
Practice data and microphone
Pieces, tasks, notes, history, preferences and recordings stay in the app's private storage on your device. This Android version has no account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, AI analysis or developer-operated data upload service. Its repertoire catalog is included in the app and browsing it does not send search queries to a server.
Optional microphone access is used when you start recording or use the tuner. Recordings are saved locally; tuner input is processed in real time without saving tuner audio. The app does not send microphone input or recordings to the developer. Revoke microphone access in Android Settings; other journal features remain available.
Android backup, transfer and deletion
Android system backup and device transfer are allowed for app files and preferences. Depending on your device and Google account settings, the operating system may include your journal and recordings in a backup or transfer. The developer cannot access those backups. Manage backup and restore settings on your device.
Delete individual recordings in the app. Clearing app storage in Android Settings or uninstalling removes local private files. Manage existing system backups separately: restoring a backup can restore previously saved data. Save information you want to keep before clearing storage.
Support, external links and future changes
Privacy and support links open your browser or email app. This website is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may process standard connection information under GitHub's privacy statement. Voluntary support emails and their attachments are received through Gmail and used to answer your request; request deletion at seandeveloper0123@gmail.com. Do not send private recordings or documents unless you intend to share them for support.
The Android app does not intentionally collect children's personal information. Its store target audience is age 13 and older. If future versions introduce accounts, cloud synchronization or AI score analysis, their data flows and consent controls will be disclosed before release.
iOS 1.0 App Store release
Practice data on your device
Your pieces, movements, tasks, notes, session history, settings and recordings are stored in the app's local storage. Practice Note does not upload your practice notebook or recordings to the developer. The app requires no account and contains no advertising or tracking SDK.
Microphone
The microphone is used when you choose to record a practice take or use the tuner. Tuning audio is processed on your device. Saved takes remain on your device. The drone, metronome and reference sounds are generated locally. You may deny or withdraw microphone permission in iOS Settings; other practice features remain available.
Online piece and movement lookup
The built-in repertoire catalog works offline. Online lookup sends the text you search for, or the identifier of a selected work, to IMSLP and MusicBrainz over HTTPS. These services receive your IP address, app User-Agent and request parameters. Their policies describe server access logs and aggregated traffic statistics. Practice Note does not attach your notes, recordings, session history, email address or an app account identifier to these requests.
We do not control those providers' retention of access logs. Use the built-in catalog and practice tools offline if you do not want to send online lookup requests. Opening external source or support links is subject to the destination provider's policy.
Support and website
If you voluntarily email seandeveloper0123@gmail.com, your email address, message and any attachments are received through Gmail and used to answer your request. Please do not include sensitive documents or recordings unless necessary. You can request deletion of support correspondence at the same email address. Email service retention and backup practices may also apply.
This support website is hosted by GitHub Pages. It includes no analytics scripts or advertising. GitHub may receive standard connection information when you visit; see GitHub's privacy statement.
Retention, deletion and sharing
Local practice data remains until you delete it or the app. You can delete individual recordings in the app. Deleting a piece preserves its saved sessions and recordings in History. To remove all local app data, delete the app rather than offload it. Apple device backups may include copies depending on your settings; manage those backups through Apple settings. The developer cannot access or remotely delete your local notebook.
Sharing and exporting happen only when you choose them and are handled by the destination you select in the system share sheet. The app does not sell practice data or use it for advertising tracking.
AI and future changes
AI score analysis and document uploads are not included in this App Store release. If a future update adds an online AI feature, its data flow and consent controls will be disclosed before you send material for analysis. Material privacy changes will be reflected in an updated policy and the app where appropriate.
